Question 9.

Central York School district does not tolerate when students bully other students, whether online or in person.
The district expects students to report bullying to administrators so they can step in and help the person being bullied.

The consequences for bullying include their parents being notified, detention, suspension, and/or Expulsion from school.

Question 10.

Teens can feel unsafe at home or in their rooms because they have access to the internet and cyberbullyies there.
When teens are cyberbullied, their self-esteem can be hurt and they don't feel as confident in themselves.
Cyberbullying also causes teens to feel the need to take their own life because they feel that they can't take anymore bullying.

People who suffer from cyberbullying also can feel jumpy, anxious, and sad due to the stress they feel when they worry whether or not they will be a bullying target.

Question 11.

Teens should address cyberbullying by ignoring the messages they get and not trying to fight back.
Teens could also file a complaint on the site they are using if they witness cyberbullying.
Teens should inform administrators or teachers at their school because they may be able to help with the bullying and putting a stop to it.
Teens should advise an adult if they are a victim to cyberbullying or if they have witnessed cyberbullying. In some cases telling the police would help the victim.

Question 12.

One way to prevent cyberbullying is to follow rules that are given to you by your school and by your family that have to do with responsible internet use.
An easy way to stop cyberbullying is to not encourage others to bully people online and to not do it yourself.
If you see people bullying others in person or online, you should tell a responsible adult who could help the situation.
Don't put any embarrassing pictures or videos of people on the internet that they wouldn't want to be on there.

Jesse Logan was 18 when she was found in her bedroom closet, hung.
She was bullied by student at her school when a nude photo she gave to her ex-boyfriend was sent to hundreds of students.
She went on the news to talk to people about her situation and try to prevent others from making the same mistake she had.
After she went to a funeral for a friend that had committed suicide, she hung herself in her bedroom closet.
Her mom never received any letters from the school, informing her of the sexting situation her daughter was in. She only ever got letters informing her that her daughter had been skipping classes.
Jesse was a happy, upbeat girl that no one expected to commit suicide.
